First Day of School - 2014 edition

School started back this morning. Both kids were ready to go and excited to greet the new school year. Here they are, in their finest "Nana-wear" original outfits.

Karuna obliged us with a quick portrait session before we left the beautiful Muir Woods. These photos are totally untouched - Molly and I are just that stunning! (and silly). 

More Muir Adventures

The second part of our day trip was to go to Muir Woods National Monument. It was a moment of victory for the parents: we wanted to go, and were pretty sure the kids would enjoy it. The kids wanted no part of it. We declared this a parent decision, and Karuna thoughtfully requested the "Junior Ranger Adventure" at the Ranger Station, which turned out to be a pretty nicely done poetic scavenger hunt. The kids quickly warmed to the entire thing (although they were admittedly a bit disappointed by the sticker "treasure" at the end). 

Muir Beach Adventure

Sure, Molly and I miss having Zach and Clara here. But we've been keeping ourselves pretty busy! This week we've gone up to the farm, had sleepovers with friends, a mom-daughter date (to see Malificent), and today we day tripped out to Muir Beach with friends! One of the coolest things was seeing the beached Velella (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velella). Molly also had a lot of fun making faces at the camera. :)
