Hanging Around the House

We had a wonderful long weekend in Carmel Valley, filled with family, thanks-giving, and much-needed down time for all of us. Here's the first batch of pictures, showing the girls dressing up in Nana's jewelry and clothes, Clara cooking with nana, Zach hanging out, Pa and the girls discussing chess, hanging around the (dark) thanksgiving table, a bee enjoying a feast, the girls having a tea party with GGPa, and my mother's wonderful note reminding us to take a moment and be thankful for what we have and people who came before us.

Note: unfortunately I forgot my "nice" camera on this trip, but luckily we just "upgraded" my phone to Zach's old phone, so the pictures from this trip are all from my "new" phone, which focuses significantly better than my last phone. Enjoy!

Great Grand Girls

We surprised GGPa with an extra special visit after our trip to the bookstore: he got to enjoy all three of his great-grand-girls, including baby Adena!

LACMA

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at LACMA with GGPa & GGMa. I had never been to LACMA before and was completely impressed. It reminded me, in a way, of visiting the Smithsonian as a child. Partly because it was free, but also because of the easy flow of indoor and outdoor spaces, the accessibility of the exhibits, and the fact that it felt like many museums (which, I suppose it is, technically?). Plus, visiting the tar pit park next door, with it's big grassy spaces, was like a smaller (and hillier) version of romping on the Mall.

An afternoon with GGPa & GGMa

And we had a lovely afternoon with Zach's grandparents. We filmed Molly doing a short interview with Henry about his life, and we looked at their art. And took pictures before we headed off to dinner.
