WinterHaus 2016 - Day 4
And, finally, it was time to go. We packed up the house and found a lovely spot for snow play. Dave and the kids made an awesome igloo! (and Doppler kept an eye on everything)

WinterHaus 2016 - Day 3
Day 3 was cross country skiing for all of us (except poor Dave, who got sick). I should also note that this was the first WinterHaus trip for us with their new dog, Doppler, who is a super dog! He stayed back with Dave, though, while the rest of us took a super trek out to the Cook House (strong work, kids!). Then Karuna and I had a nice excursion on some of the more difficult trails (for me, that is - I fell loads, but had a great time!).

WinterHaus 2016 - Day 2
On the second day of mountain fun, I went off cross country skiing by myself (I even took a lesson!), and everyone else enjoyed a day of downhill skiing (then I went and picked up the "littles" when they were done enjoying the slopes).

WinterHaus 2016 - Day 1
For the seventh year in a row, we enjoyed a long weekend with Rylyn & Tegan's family up in the mountains. And after a few very dry years, we were really happy to have some snow on the ground again!
The first day we were on our own: we went snowshoeing (which involved a lot of stopping and eating snow - so much that Molly finally declared herself sick of eating snow!!); we found a geocache; and we got goofy back at the cabin waiting for our friends to arrive.

No binoculars needed
I am having a great time as a chaperone on Molly's 5th grade trip. Today's mail event was a beautiful home to see the elephant seals up close! They are equal parts fascinating, hilarious, and terrifyingly huge. (Molly is on the right in yellow).
