I made a bed! We have a mattress in the yurt, but it's been on the floor, and we've been tipping it upright and putting it on blocks whenever we leave because I'm worried about water damage (we had some water intrusion issues when we first set up). I've been scheming in my head a way to make an easy bed frame, ideally out of scrap wood. And over the last few months, as the piles of scrap wood from the barn construction have grown, I've been itching to put together a bed.
I finally did it on Sunday morning! We had planned on working on the barn all weekend, but we finished up early, so I jumped on the opportunity! Working in the shade of the barn roof was nice, and the results were awesome (if I may say so myself)!
Materials: The 2x4s were from boxes used to deliver the yurt; the 1x slats were used to hold up the barn pole footing forms; and the 2x10 legs were off-cuts from the facia boards on the barn. Fancy!
