Happy Mother's Day

To all the mothers out there -- whether you mother human children, animals, communities, the earth, or just yourself -- happy mother's day! (or is it mothers day? or mothers' day?)

The family treated me to a yummy breakfast, a rumpl blanket, and for the first time in ages we went to the Thai Temple for brunch.

Leftover Ridge Hike

Clara and I went on a lovely hike on Sobrante (Spanish for "leftover") Ridge this morning. It threatened to rain the whole time, but only started sprinkling at the end. We found a fun swing, some cool manzanitas, and a geocache.

Happy Birthday Opa!

We celebrated Opa's 3x4x7th birthday with flowers, ethiopian food, and lots of silliness. Here's to another trip around the sun, with lots of love!

Photos. By Clara.

It was a quiet weekend and Clara was inspired to take tons of photos. Here are some of my favorites. (plus a few that I took).

Gym Meet 2019 #3

One more gym meet down! Clara got some of her best scores ever, and her worst. Right off the bat she fell twice from the beam, but bounced right back up and finished her routine. Then pulled herself together and rocked the rest of the meet! I'm so proud of her! (It was a Mardi Gras themed event, hence the masks and decorations) .

Gym Meet 2019 #2

Meet #2 for the season was back at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Clara worked really hard between the meets to fix some of the issues she had last time, and it paid off! She was super proud of her accomplishments, and clearly, super proud of her teammates, too!

Gym Meet Season

And the Gymnastics Meet Season has begun! Clara is off and running in a sea of blue and gold. Sometimes, it's hard to pick out which one is her, but I think that's part of the point? She had a great time at their home meet and is looking forward to the rest of the season!

Her friend Illana came and watched and cheered her on!
