Retainer in

Braces came off on Monday, & she got long term retainers on Wednesday. Round One of orthodontic work is done, now we wait for all the adult teeth to come in before we see about Round Two.

53!

We found our 53rd geocache this morning! As funny as that number sounds, it's a geocaching milestone for our family. When we started caching a few months ago, the kids immediately wanted to hide their own cache. As a family, we decided we needed to find 53 caches before we could hide one. Why 53? Well, that's the power of compromise and negotiation: sometimes you end up with a funny number. And a funny family.

Green Belly Button Club

Last year the kids started the Green Belly Button Club. To join, you have to eat some dirt, run around the circle 5 times, and drink a cup of water in one drink. As exclusive as it sounds (and as much as that sounds like a hazing ritual), they actually very quickly adapt the joining requirements to whoever wants to join (littler kids can walk around the circle once; the dirt being eaten is just a speck, and most kids just get it in the course of their time there; and the cup of water has as much water as you think you might be able to drink).

Eugene captured some of the club members who decided to go all the way and actually decorate their belly buttons green! (more pictures by Eugene)

Easter Egg Hunt

Another highlight of the week was the easter egg hunt. Several families came just for the hunt, and were treated to perfect weather and ducklings!!! Our neighbor's had just started taking delivery of 400 peking ducklings and brought some up to add to the fun.

These pictures are all by the talented Eugene Chan. So lucky to get his view of the events!

(adults hard at work preparing the hunt; kids hard at work enjoying the hunt; ducklings hard at work being ducklings)
