Updates

It's been brought to our attention that there haven't been many pictures posted recently. I'll try to rectify the situation shortly, but in the mean time here's a recap of what's kept us so busy.

Back in April our lovely Nona (my mother) moved out to Berkeley. She's been staying with us until she moves into her own place (next week). She promptly got very sick and was in the hospital for several days, and is now more than fully recovered. Upon her recovery we continued having excellent adventures: taking the train to Davis, Nana & Pa visiting, Double Day, our trip to LA, our camping trip to Kirk Creek, milking goats, and so much more. Last week we brought home 5 of the cutest little chicks, and this past weekend was so action packed that we can barely remember what we did!

So, I'm going to start sorting pictures and trying to get them up here. In the mean time, thank you for being patient!

Santa Monica Pier

we finished up our exciting day with a thrilling trip to the santa monica pier. It was fun watching Molly really get into the scary rides (more roller coaster! I want to ride the "alligator"!). And I'm pretty sure this was Clara's first experience with amusement park rides (beyond the lovely rides at Fairy Land). She was thrilled and eager to give each one a try (although every time she saw the beach she begged us to let her go in the water). Everyone was appropriately sad when it was time to go.

And we'll be appropriately sad, but ready, to go home tomorrow.

Bobbe's Birthday Bash

This afternoon we got nicely dressed up for Great-Grand-Aunt Bobbe's 94th birthday party. It was fancy & fun and the girls did an excellent job practicing saying hello to lots of people they don't know. And it was nice honoring such an adventuresome woman as Bobbe.

Here are the girls, enjoying their apple juice on the Veranda. And later, enjoying goofing off with cousin Ellington.

Brentwood School

Turns out the Farmer's Market we went to this morning was right next to Nana & Pa's elementary school. Well, to be precise, Nana went there K-6 & Pa was there just for 1st. Still pretty cool. They showed us their classrooms, we played on the (completely different) playground. And we ate farmer's market goodies.

Sculpture People

We stumbled across this super-realistic sculpture of a family being photographed. The girls (Molly in particular) were really taken by it and spent a lot of time exploring the sculpture and talking to the people. Molly even spent time revisiting her fear of dogs with the little sculpture dog (that's about the same size and color as the dog that bit her last year).

Lunch at GG-Pa's

Enjoyed a delicious lunch at Henry & Marcia's apartment. The girls have been super sweet with all the visiting. Here's Clara with Zach & Henry; Sofi & Molly examining a pin from Marcia (thanks!); Susie with her grandgirls; Clara checking out the scene; Molly petting a horse; and Pa and his grandgirls posing with the "Arc" that they made with GG-Ma.
