Snow!

We just got back from a snow trip that can only be described as "epic". A storm arrived as we drove up and left snow fall that could be measured in feet. It also left the cabin with no power and at various times no phone, no water, and/or no snow plows to clear the road and driveway.

More stories and many more pictures to come. But the short story is that we had a wonderful time! We called it luxury snow camping, and we were really lucky to have a wonderful (and very resourceful) family vacationing with us. We all took it in stride when we had to melt snow on the wood stove in order to flush the toilet.

Sisters at Steep Ravine

Molly at Steep Ravine

Molly enjoyed a lot of independence at Steep Ravine. She was one of the oldest kids in the group and led Zach and I on a couple really interesting hikes & ramblings over rocks. Here she is on the rocks; showing off her clover bouquet; and at the end is a series of photos she took. The first three she called "combinations". She was taking photos of three natural things, three human-made things, or two human-made things and a natural thing. The last one is the trash wedged behind the trashcan. Things us adults just don't notice.

Clara at Steep Ravine

Clearly, Clara had a great time. Here she is: hamming it up for the camera; heading down to the beach with Zach; Rinsing off her feet at the water spigot (note the tongue in the 2nd photo); taking toys from Emma; looking like an elf; climbing rocks; climbing stairs; and watching the sunset with Sofi.

Steep Ravine

We just got back from an amazing weekend at Steep Ravine. Friends of ours scored some cabins (which are next to impossible to reserve because they're so popular) and we got incredibly lucky with the weather.
