And while we were busy moving everything around on the farm, the kids were busy learning horsemanship skills at horse camp!

June Week on the Farm
Back in June, for the first week of the summer, we had the pleasure of staying for the entire week on the farm! It ended up being a busier week than expected, what with moving Mary P out of her place on short notice and moving our campsite back up to the Filaree Field. But it was very satisfying and felt great to get to know the land a little more.

Capay Water Trough
Summer in the Capay Valley is nothing short of hot. We haven't figured out a permanent cooling off solution (aka pool), but we've made do quite well with what we have! 5 out of 5 horses and kids agree: water troughs full of water are good things to have!

Car ride with dogs
Also while Zach and Clara were on the east coast, Molly and I traipsed around the Capay Valley with Mary P. Molly and the dogs all ride remarkably well in the car. : )

Molly CCCT Camp
For the second year in a row, Molly participated in the Contra Costa Civic Theater's summer camp, which puts on a fantastic, if not completely surreal, play at the end of each session. Clara and Zach were on the east coast for their adventures with Nana and Pa, so Nona and Opa accompanied me and Nate to the show. (Molly's character was Smaug the Terrible).
