With the kids away, Zach and I took a quick trip up to the farm to check out the new roof on the barn. The roof looks fantastic, and so does the farm. The weather was perfect (in the 80's, rather than the 100's we experienced on our last trip up there!). The yurt and the deck are doing great (still some work to do on the deck, but it's totally useable and that allows us to focus on other things for now). We hiked up Bob's Hill, and I even got Zach to take a few pictures of me! : )

She's off!
Molly is off to a week of sleepaway camp with her buddy, Lucy. Can you tell how excited they are? :)

Movie and a dinner
Zach and Clara went to the farm for the weekend, and Molly and I have been having a lovely weekend together. Yesterday afternoon we biked downtown and saw the new movie Inside Out and then went out for udon noodles. Here's Molly enjoying the soup.

Rain in June?
For the second time this month, I've woken up and said "Rain? In June?". Well, with the drought dragging on, we'll take what we can get. And, after this dry, dry winter, the kids were thrilled to be able to use their rain gear!

Superhero Day
Last week was Spirit Week at the kids' school, and Friday was Superhero Day. It was so much fun watching the girls develop the ideas they had for their costumes.
Clara chose "Gymnastics Fairy!", which bothered Molly to no end ("you're dressing as a fairy, not a superhero!"). After a bit of wavering, Clara stayed true to form and put together her costume. To demonstrate her powers, she ran around saying "You want to learn gymnastics? Great! I can teach you!".
Molly started out putting together a costume as Ms. Fouche (her teacher). In the process, though, she decided to be "Toolbox Woman!". (Toolbox is the social-emotional learning curriculum our school uses). She made a lanyard with Toolbox tools on it (like all the teachers have), a belt with her emblem, and to demonstrate her powers she would say: "Be calm! Everyone breathe! Be calm!".
