Out and About

Yes, we do get out of the house!

I realized that most of our pictures have been taken in the house, while Molly & I actually do spend a fair amount of time out & about. Here you see us enjoying the sunshine (& if you squint you can see a notable landmark in the background). I have a nice little routine going where I manage to have something scheduled just about every day. One day I walk to Baby & Mom yoga (delicious!); one day I hit the mom's support group & we walk to lunch afterwards; one day the mom's group heads out on a stroller walk; and usually the other two days of the work week I have lunch with friends. It seems to be just the right amount of exercise for my 8 weeks post-partum.

What's missing?

See if you can you tell what's missing from this picture:

That's right! The dreaded cast is OFF!!! The prognosis is good for the finger, although Zach will be spending some time in finger rehab (aka physical therapy). Molly's pleased, as you can tell.

Dinner & a movie

That's our neighbors Paula & Nathaniel on the left. We enjoyed pizza & a movie (Ballad of Jack & Rose) with Paula, Nate, & Sean at the Parkway Theater's Baby Brigade. Here's a toast to wonderful neighbors!

connecting to the world

The lovely young woman is reaching out to the world (see above) and connecting with people (she loves looking at faces), toys, and, well, the world (she's very concerned about the goings on, but occasionally finds it funny).

To Grandmother's house we go!

Hi ho hi ho!

We took a trip down to visit Zach's parent's house this weekend (about 2hrs from here). Part of the reason for going was to "practice" traveling with Molly. Do we bring our cloth diapers? Or do we use the disposable? Are washcloths useful? Or are they extra weight? And what about the Pack'N'Play? Really. What about it?

Of course everything changes with her by the minute, but the trip gave me the confidence that it could be done. And it let me know that she has her evening "fussies" whether she's at home, at the grandparent's, or in the car. And that there are folks who love dancing her through her fusses.

Besides dancing, Molly had some hammock time with her grandpa, met her uncle Judd & Tybe, and in general had a grand ol' time. ( oh yes, and slept & slept)

(that is until Monday when Dwight tried to recruit her to work)
