President Molly

Yesterday, Molly ran for president on a platform of eliminating pollution, hunger, and homelessness. She won and immediately set her plans into action. Granted, her plans were a little legislation heavy, but you can't
accuse her of not jumping right in!

 Molly is the president.

First, she presented us with ballots to vote. But Zach wisely told her we couldn't vote if we didn't know about our candidates. So she wrote a short speech explaining her position on the issues:

I would do a lot about polution. And help the homeless. I would do something about drunk people.

And give every person food. I would try to have everyone eat healthy.

So we voted for her. Granted, her only opponent (Clara) stated that she didn't want to be president. But once she was in office, Zach immediately held her accountable and asked what she was doing to address the issues. So, she wrote up a few notes and signs:

I've made a law about cars. You can only drive non drunk and only to far places. If broken, pay $75.00

I've gathered people to go to every house to help them eat healthy.

We did have to point out that she might want to go to the grocery store before she invites everyone over to eat. Or at least make sure we have some food! :)

School times

A couple pictures of Molly in school... one of her 100th day necklace (100 Cheerios), and the other of the charming group of girls I chaperoned to a dance performance last week. (Demaya, Joani, Yurixi, & Molly, in case you were wondering)

Pinecrest "Snow" Trip 2

Just got back from another trip to the mountains. And there was even less snow this time. But! We had just as much fun. We went with two other families this time - with kids ranging from 5 months to almost-7-years old. They formed a nice "pack" pretty quickly and enjoyed themselves (as did us grownups). We did one outing to find some snow at the "snow play" place - a hill where you can pay to get pulled up the hill, then zoom down the hill on one of their tubes. Zach, Molly, & Clara did it and had a blast. Clara even hooted, hollered, and screamed down the hill every time.

RIP Clucky

Our last hen from our first batch of chicks has died at the ripe old age of "almost 6". Molly immediately wanted to memorialize Clucky the Hen with a small poster, as we had done for the hens that went before her. This hen was certainly loved.

Candyland

Enjoying a sunny game of Candyland on the front porch.
Clara's a sneaky one - so potential opponents be warned! She kept trying to sneak "special" cards into play. In a funny way, it kept backfiring on her.

Pinecrest "Snow" Trip 1

January was a slow month for posts here! But we've been a very busy family. Besides me turning into a plumber (I replaced two toilets plus a sink!), we started back in school, mourned the loss of the preschool director (who died somewhat unexpectedly in late December), celebrated birthdays for Uncle Nouri & Opa, and many other things. One of those "other things" was a fun trip up to Pinecrest, in the mountains. There wasn't a ton of snow, but seeing how there had been NO snow in the mountains this year until the week we went, we were happy with what we got! And, of course, we were happy we coul share the trip with the lovely O'Jaggars.

These pictures are from Dave's camera. Hopefully I'll get around to downloading my pictures soon!
