July 2013: Not-Ollalaberry Picking

And we capped off the camping trip by going berry picking. There had been a plan to go Ollalberry picking, but it turned out the Ollali's were not ready (or were closed for the day), so we went with plan B, which was strawberries. Those, too, had a weak showing, having been pretty well picked-over during the weekend, but Molly and I were able to scrape together enough to make some compote when we got home, which, of course, we called "Not-Ollalaberry Jam".

Costumes

We got a chance to try out the halloween costumes a bit early for a friend's costume party this weekend. Any guesses as to what they are? (answers below)

Pat yourself on the back if you guessed Molly is dressed as Joan of Arc, posing in her ready-for-battle pose, and ready to face her tragic end pose.

Don't feel bad if you didn't guess Clara, though. She's a: cat-vampire-ghost-dog. Okay, well maybe that was obvious.

And, I have to proudly note that Clara did all her makeup on her own. And whatever parts of Molly's costume that she didn't make on her own, she gave very detailed direction on and closely oversaw the construction.

Kika's Sleepover

The girls had another wonderful sleepover at Kika's (clara's former daycare). Pictures courtesy of Kika:

Molly, Age 8 (and a half)

One of the parents in Molly's class is a portrait photographer. Every year she comes and does pictures of each kid in her kids classes. This year, Molly is lucky enough to be in her son's class, and thus, I present:

Molly, Age 8 (and a half)!

Huge thank you to Smeeta for taking the time to see each kid, and for sharing her work!
