Jane the hen

On August first we slaughtered Jane. It was time. She was 4 years old, and the world was becoming uncomfortable for her. She was also getting really ornery, attacking the other hens at every opportunity. Oh, and she didn't lay so many eggs anymore, either.

The process was difficult, but we were lucky to have our friend & neighbor, Lori, help us through the whole thing, from beginning, right through the end. Thank you Lori!
